Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of Lilla Cotton can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

Lilla Diane Lane-Cotton was born April 9, 1947 in Atlanta, Georgia to the late General Lane Jr., and Margie Pearl. Diane, as she liked to be called, graduated from Price High School in 1965. She is preceded in death by one brother, Andrew "Boot" Lane.

Lilla was a beautiful soul who is loved and cherished by all who knew her. She was a humble and faithful servant to God at Faith and Deliverance Baptist Church and a true Prayer Warrior. Diane was a wonderful and loving mother to two sons, and two daughters. She gained her wings on November 4, 2017.

Lilla Diane Cotton leaves to cherish her memory, four children, Todd Ray, Rachelle Richardson, Mark Alexander (Francesca), and Erika Johnson (William); nine grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, four siblings, Margie Jones, Pamela Lane, Patricia Lane, and Rodney Lane; and a host of nieces, and nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

Celebration of Life Service will be held Thursday, November 9th, 2017, 11:00 am, at Herschel Thornton Mortuary 3346 Martin Luther King Jr. Drive SW Atlanta, Georgia 30331. Interment Greenwood Cemetery.

Public Viewing will be Wednesday, November 8th, 2017 10:00 am until 8:00 pm at Herschel Thornton Mortuary 3346 Martin Luther King Jr. Drive SW Atlanta, Georgia 30331.
