Martina Newman was born December 2, 1956 to the late Franklin and Elon Newman. On Monday, October 5, 2020, she transitioned to her eternal home.

So full of life, Martina attended the Atlanta Public Schools System, graduating from Joseph Brown High School in 1974. Upon graduating, Martina attended Atlanta Job Corps in hopes of entering the medical field.

Born in a strong faith-based family, Martina dedicated her life to being a servant of God at a young age. Martina joined Walkerโ€™s Tabernacle Baptist Church under the leadership of Reverend R.L. Calloway. Martina was a member of the Usher Board, the President of the R.L. Calloway Gospel Choir, and a devoted Sunday School teacher.

Later in life Martina joined Fountain of Faith Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Reverend Reginald B. Newman, where she served until her untimely death.

Martina had two children, Demario and Courtney, and an adopted daughter, Kia. She married the love of her life in 1997, Morris Armstrong, who preceded her in death in 2012.

Always smiling, Martina was a devoted mother and grandmother who went above and beyond for her family, children, and grandchildren. She uplifted her family, was the life of any party, and loved her pastor and younger cousin, Rev. Newman.

Sunday, October 5, 2020, Martina gained her angel wings. She leaves to cherish her memory, her children, Demario (Sarah), Courtney, and Kia (Damon); grandchildren, Keyana, Brianna, DeMaya, Jeremiah, Kimoni, Taylor-Michelle, Tirah, and Tiana; siblings, Dexter (Tina), Maurice (Lisa), and Pamela; two nieces, Victoria and Varsia; aunts, uncles, cousins, and a set of the most loyal, supportive, dependable and loving family members, uncle Anthony and aunt Renise Jackson.

Martina will be dearly missed by all wo encountered her warm, humorous, and loving spirit, She is now safe with The Father, singing in the Heavenly Choir, and breathing all the air she will ever need. May She Rest In Peace.
