Obituary

Minnie “Minola” Cox was born on August 4, 1954 in Rutledge, Georgia. She was the oldest of five children born to the late Grace Cox. One sister, Sharon Cox, preceded her in death. “Minola’s” grandparents, Minnie Bell Cox and Rube Cox, were instrumental in her upbringing.

The family moved to Atlanta in the sixties. “Minola” acquired her education in the Atlanta School System and Carver High School.

“Minola” was a free spirited person who touched many lives. She enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

She departed this life on Sunday, February 24, 2019 after a lengthy illness, and was surrounded by family and friends. She is survived by three children, James “Tony” Cox, Kinya Mosley (Ramon), and Tameika Mosley; seven grandchildren, Rico Mosley, Ashanti Mosley, Malaysia Cox, Ashley Mosley, Nicholas Payne Jr., Ramon Mosley, and Antonio Walker; sisters, Carol Cox and Sheila Cox; one brother, Darrell Cox (Deborah), and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Celebration of Life Service will be held Saturday, March 2nd, 2019, 4:00 pm, at Adamsville Recreation Center, 3201 Martin Luther King Jr. Drive Atlanta, Georgia 30311.

Public Viewing will be Saturday, March 2nd, 2019 10:00 am until 8:00 pm at Herschel Thornton Mortuary 3346 Martin Luther King Jr. Drive SW Atlanta, Georgia 30331.
